Rental apartments in Forsåker, Mölndal

ARK.6

From Paper to Place.
From Historic Paper Mill to Modern Urban District.

In Forsåker, a new urban district is taking shape in the heart of Mölndal, on a site shaped by water, industry and paper production. Here, ByggVesta is developing ARK.6, a new residential block with 238 rental apartments ranging from studios to four-room apartments, built above the district’s mobility hub.

The architecture draws on Forsåker’s industrial character. The homes will become part of a district where historic industrial buildings meet new neighbourhoods, parks and places for everyday life.

ARK.6. From paper to place.

Paper has been produced in Forsåker for centuries. The water and rapids powered the industry, and the paper mill came to shape both the site and the development of Mölndal.

The name ARK.6 is a nod to the paper once produced here. In Swedish, ark means a sheet of paper, the starting point for the cardboard that was made here. The number 6 comes from Building 6, built in 1926 as a cardboard paper mill and warehouse. It is a name that carries a small piece of Forsåker’s history into the future. From sheets of paper and cardboard to plans for new homes and a new everyday life.

Architecture with a sense of place

ARK.6 will have a robust, carefully considered design inspired by Forsåker’s older industrial buildings. The façades combine different expressions in concrete and light-coloured brick. Divided-light windows reference older industrial architecture, while balconies are designed with slender steel profiles. The colour palette features warm grey, sand, brown and ochre tones.

The apartments feature smart layouts and light, contemporary material choices.

A new everyday life in Forsåker

ARK.6 is close to central Mölndal and Mölndal’s public transport hub, with train, tram and bus connections. From there, Gothenburg Central Station is just eight minutes away by train. Nearby are the historic surroundings of Kvarnbyn, parks and nature, as well as Papyr, a new destination taking shape among Forsåker’s preserved industrial buildings.

We look forward to welcoming you to ARK.6 from early 2029!
